CommVault HyperScale Appliance

Commvault HyperScale Appliances adds scale-out infrastructure to the Commvault Data Platform. It can integrate with storage arrays, hypervisors, applications and cloud providers. It takes advantage of a built-in operating environment, virtualization, and storage technologies from Red Hat. This backup product is primarily aimed at the secondary storage market, which Commvault believes accounts for 70% of customer data.

The appliance version integrates compute, storage, networking, virtualization, backup and recovery, lifecycle data management and analytics into a single platform. A software only option is available in different sizes and models from the likes of Dell, Fujitsu, Cisco, Lenovo, HPE, Super Micro Computer and Huawei.

Commvault HyperScale Appliance is offered as a subscription and available in four configurations based on the usable TB capacity. The subscription includes the hardware, software, installation, maintenance and a hardware refresh at the time of subscription renewal.

Commvault HyperScale Appliance begins at under $25,000 per year for 29 TB usable capacity (Base2) Appliance, five-year subscription. Solutions increase in price based on the capacity size, configuration, and the selected alliance partners’ compute/storage platform (software solutions with a reference design).
